Great speed, great ball skills, fast learner, goes with instincts, breaks down film, watches a lot of film, will to not be beat, loves competing.
Birdsong played a ton last season as a sophomore and in fact was awarded the “Best DB” on a team that was loaded with older athletes with FBS offers. A sophomore winning this award has not happened in years at Stephenson. Currently the 2018 recruit is a county leader in solo tackles. Really impressed with his 40 vertical jump and how quickly he accelerates and closes on the receiver. He has impressive ball skills and despite his size he is a very physical tackler. Birdsong is also a track athlete and you see that when the senior covers a ton of ground on deep balls. Birdsong flies all over the field and is quick to come up and support the run. Looks like a solid FBS prospect but needs time in the weight room.
