Cotton is an absolute load out there on the field with a frame that can handle the load at the next level. He has good natural strength, with a compact lower body that can just churn out the extra yardage. Even weight over 207 lbs, there is still a lot of room for him to grow as an athlete in the weight room and on the field. He is a punishing runner, but shows the skills to slip out of the backfield and make receptions out in the flat, then show the elusiveness to make a defender miss. His incredible size to push the pile and break open field tackles is by far his best skill. Lateral quickness is a concern based of junior film. Improving his initial burst would help out Cotton’s recruitment greatly, right now FBS schools will be questioning his overall speed and if he can have an impact at that level or not. Pad level is very good though, and he is very comfortable running between the trenches and welcomes contact even. Cotton is a gritty back, no doubt. Update: Over the last 50 days, Cotton has shaved .1 off his 40 and dropped his shuttle down to an impressive 4.22. He now weighs 207 lbs. He has very good grades and test scores are on point, hard to believe he doesn’t breakout with offers this fall at the latest.
