What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

157 tackles was 2 in state when my season ended

van den Berg was a tackling machine with nearly 160 on the year and making All-State unanimously in Class A. The 2020 linebacker is a maniac on the field and gets into the backfield in a blink of an eye. At nearly 6’4″. The 2020 recruit moves very well and slides around blockers with ease. Going up against some of the best teams in Class and he really showed out. Length and motor is tough to match – once the 2020 recruits gets a paw on the ball carrier he is able to wrangle into a tackle. Closing speed is very good, he would be a nice fit playing out on the edge. One of the biggest sleepers still left in the state of Georgia, it’s hard to believe that no D1 schools have taken an interest in van den Berg. He is a solid tackler but what impresses me more than anything is the intensity he plays the game with. He’s still new to the game too as he grew up in South Africa and fairly new to the states. In my opinion the 2020 recruit could really explode as a football player over the next few years – you cannot teach his length and motor.
