What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?
Jermonte Davis ranked as the 6th leading tackler in GHSA AAA in 2017 with 116 total tackles, 65 solo tackles, 6 sacks, and an interception. An excellent athlete, he is a member of the varsity basketball team. In the off-season, Jermonte has added 22 lbs thru hard work in the weight room, increasing his size from 195 lbs in 2017 to 217 lbs.
Davis was easily one of the best defenders last year in his classification making a ton of tackles all over the field. With over 100 tackles last season, you can see the 2019 recruit really gets after the ball carrier. He sees the field pretty well, and is quick at recognizing play fakes or when the QB is flushing out of the pocket. That sort of football IQ is the primary reason why he totaled so many tackles last fall for Monroe Area. He weighed right under 200 pounds last fall and heading into next fall he should be closer to 200, so it will be very interesting to see how those results translate to his on the field play.
