Stephens has put up good interception totals throughout his career, and in 2021 he already has 5 thru the regular season and there should be plenty of playoff games ahead. The 2022 DB has played both CB and Safety over the course of his career. He’s got a solid frame, though he hasn’t gained much weight over the last year, his weight lifting has improved, especially his power clean. That has led to a more explosive first step breaking on the football and more impactful tackles. He’s very aggressive, especially in coverage where he is solid at navigating the receiver through his route without creating enough contact to warrant a flag. Stephens will fly to the football, but we would like to see him settle into his tackles more and try to line up his attempts better at times. Still, good contact, strikes consistently at the waste, and no arm tackling. Drives his legs most of the time. He’s a solid coverage DB, who shows good versatility. I could see some colleges liking his film at NB honestly; he seems to have the right frame and skill set at the college level.
