McDearmont split carries with a diverse group of talented skill players but still amounted 776 yards and 12 touchdowns on top of 238 yards receiving and 4 more scores. What is more notable is the 7.6 yards per carry. McDearmont does a good job of hitting the hole and is naturally elusive in tight spaces. He shows good hip swivel when changing directions and really like how he gets vertical with his running once he finds a seam. He has excellent running vision and is accumulating weight to around 200 lbs. McDearmont’s quick feet to get around tackles are impressive, but the creativity to manipulate defenders in space is his best attribute. Couple that with his great determination and balance to bounce off tackles with his excellent hands as a receiver, and you have a very intriguing all-purpose back who is set for a big senior year. If McDearmont takes a jump with his top end speed, then watch out in 2024.
