Duke gets out of his stance pretty quickly and engages with the OL with a nice wide base. Initially acceleration is good, and Dukes works hard on closing out on the ball carrier, but his strengths mostly lie on what he does in the trenches, but work ethic and hustle show out during tape. Dukes has energy and moves to the ball carrier with nice activity, which allows for him to play screen passes way better than normal DT’s. That’s a skill set that is becoming more and more important for a DT in this day and age of football. Dukes has some good athleticism, he moves well laterally, but needs to continue to work on beating his man at the point of attack. His size is good, and being around 285-290 in college should be expected, but I would like to see the 2020 recruit lose a little bit of weight and try to become even quicker out of his stance.
