According to Royals, he can nearly jump 40″ on his vertical, and for a receiver, that’s pretty much elite. There is certainly an explosive element to his game. The 2021 receiver has now put on about 15 lbs. over the last year. Solid receiver, he’s made a few impressive high-pointed catches this year where he toe taps the sideline. Watch some of his toughest opponents this year, and Royals does a pretty good job still making plays, but against quicker defensive backs he has to rely more on his ball skills more than his natural speed. Also, would like to see him do more after the catch. Royals has good hands, an above average route runner and just overall some of the better focus among receivers in this class. Wondering if the added weight will add more to his explosiveness, definitely worth watching going into his senior year, because technically he is very solid.
