Smith has been one big play after another this year. One part to his game that stands out right away is his ability to go up and make a play on the football, land on his feet, then go sprinting up field. The 2020 receiver definitely has some speed. He blows by defenders, even if they are Class, like they are running in sand. Smith is pretty raw as a route runner or in defensive coverage – def an area of focus this fall. He’s a lot more refined as a receiver, and given his good speed, I think there some really good potential for him to play slot receiver. I would get him out to your camp and see how he gets in the 40, how his route running has come along. Working like crazy this offseason, going to have to see how it pays off, but not seeing many players working as hard as Smith in 2019. Over the last year, he has added about 15 lbs frame, wondering if he will be even more explosive this fall.
