What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

Football: Honorable Mention (3-5A)
Track: 4th Place (5A Region 3) 200m

Rice shows the compact body type that has been so successful for backs lately, and it almost seems like players under 5’10” are more in vogue, in the right offense, than players that are too tall. What Rice does well is use his blocks to almost disappear, and then hit the accelerator like a sports car with miles of open highway ahead. Track background seems to translate to quick accelerating. This is legit, Rice has some speed to space out defenders and create chunk plays for your team. At just 180 lbs. I think Rice can easily pack on another 20 lbs and be a legit steal at the next level with more time. You cannot teach the acceleration that Rice shows, and only some of the best DB groups in the state where able to catch him from behind. Reading his blocks, using cutbacks and getting his pad level lower are areas to improve. For the most part, he keeps his feet moving, but he can certainly do better too. Senior year, Rice is making some really nice runs picking his way through the defense – Jonesboro has played a tough schedule in the early going, and Rice has produced pretty well, showing a lot of determination to get yards after contact. Nice low center of gravity makes for a tough player to get on the turf, Rice should definitely see more recruiting attention as the 2019 season progresses.
