Coach notes:
Hunter is extremely athletic and power. He is also a smart
and instinctive player on defense and offense.. Miss the
majority of the summer going into his JR year staying with dad
and was injured with a shoulder injury that sidelined him for
some of his JR season, so he has limited tape and a huge upside!
No doubt, bean has good size at 6’4″ and 260 lbs., and shows the frame to swing across the LOS. We like him at offensive guard, and should continue to fill out his frame nicely to 300 lbs. Bean needs to work on flexibility, but what catches our eye is how quickly gets up field and locates a defender to block. He moves well, but needs some work laterally, and that shows with his pass blocking where he needs to get quicker and more concise as he slides with the defender. That’s not a huge problem once he moves over to OG. Bean has solid upside though, and his acceleration is certainly noteworthy, now we want to see an uptick in pancakes at the 2nd level since he gets there so fast. We do like his motor and he shows pretty good strength at the point of attack.
