Jones is a player that I have my eye on heading into this senior year, he’s a good athlete with excellent grades. His speed really stands out just on the first clip of spring film where he houses a ball for a 50 yard run. Jones is also very quick to the play on defense. I’m not sure, but it seems like Jones would really benefit to be on offense where he can make more explosive plays. He looks good on defense, and his tackling is solid, but doesn’t keep his feet through his attempt, and get knocked backwards if he doesn’t have enough momentum on his attempt. Needs to really re-work how he tackles at this point, if the ball carrier is bigger than him, it might be a struggle to get him down. Still, Jones had a lot of experience his junior year on defense, and considering his team’s spread attack on offense, I see them getting the ball into his hands so he can make more explosive plays.
