Leonard has good strength for his age group, and plays the game with a ton of urgency, which earned him early playing time at running back and one defense some too. What I really like about Leonard is the good lateral quickness he shows while keeping his pads squared up field. Does a really nice job of that with the football in his hands, and he gets off poor angled tackles because of it. He has some very good balance, and can absorb contact while maintaining his feet. A little more time in the weight room and I can see him having a bigger impact on defense too. Leonard likes to hit, some of the blocks he throws are really impressive. Definitely demonstrates a nice springy step to his running stride. Getting stronger in the hips and continuing to improve top end speed should be big areas to improve, but really like his fundamental base he shows. Very impressed with his impact on the varsity so early on too.
