Ruiz is 30 lbs. stronger at almost every lift from last year and also about 30 lbs heavier too. The 2022 center is now pushing about 290 lbs. He has been playing a lot of football. Tested out with one of the longer wing spans at our combine a few years back now. Ruiz has a good body type as a blocker, but needs to work on flexibility more, getting lower while engaged too. He has good leg drive, looks good getting leverage too, which makes sense due to his longer wingspan. Ruiz needs to continue to work on getting quicker with his feet, especially in pass pro he can look a little slow. Still a tough blocker, continuing to work on hand placement is another area to improve. We like his upside for sure, plus he has a lot of experience under his belt. Think his junior film will shake out nicely and FBS programs will be interested.
