Rowe is a versatile athlete with a very good frame and fluid moving athlete when he is in the open field. He has quick reactions and does a very good job of changing directions. That gives him some versatility to play both FS or CB at the next level. What stands out about Rowe is the dynamic athleticism you see on the field. He closes on the ball carrier faster than anyone on his team. In his spring film he does a good job of reading the QB’s eyes and shows off very good acceleration cutting in front of the receiver. He tackles with authority, showing good explosiveness in the hips. His tackling fundamentals are solid. He could do a better job of getting out to the edge to push the ball carrier back into pursuit. Right now, he has the speed to chase down from the backside. His footwork definitely needs some work. Overall the 6′ 180 lbs. athlete has a good frame to work with but his production could have certainly been better. The HC over at Long County should definitely get more out of him this fall now that it’s his 2nd year in the program, so Rowe is one to watch closely this fall, but most FBS programs should at least have him on their radar.
