Calvin is a pure athlete lining up in the middle and in 2019 he put up some solid numbers. With right at 38 tackles and 12 tackles for loss, almost a 1/3 of his tackles occurred in the backfield. Add his 5 sacks as well, Calvin was a major player at creating negative plays. He shows very good acceleration closing in on the ball carrier and just has pure strength practically picking the ball carrier off the ground on some attempts. Calvin is a powerful young man. He doesn’t use his hands much nor show any type of swim move. The 2021 DT mainly just uses his very good speed to chase down the ball carrier. He has good size at 6’4″ and carries his weight well, there is definitely room to grow. Right now he is getting mild G5 interest, but considering his upside as an interior pass rusher (especially if he works on a swim move) then his value on 3rd down alone should be worth an FBS scholarship.
