The 2020 safety made All-Region as a junior after being a backup to an All-State safety his sophomore year. He shows good open field tackling, nice instincts reading the ball carrier down field and squaring up on tackle attempts. Coverage skills are solid, over the last 6 months he’s made some solid improvements in the weight room, and added about 10 lbs to his frame. We were expecting for Lafayette to make a nice jump his junior, and he seemingly did. Tackling seems to be consistent and nice size at 6’1″/6’2″ suggests he can have impact playing balls over the middle of the field. The 2020 recruit moves really well laterally, he reacts to the play way quicker than most of his teammates and is quick in pursuit. Does a really good job of closing in a zone defense. Senior year you are seeing better fundamentals tackling in the open field, and generally speaking, the 2020 recruit is all over the play. Always been big on Lafayette, he has excellent length and a good feel reading the play. Footwork is much improved too in coverage, but still has a good bit of work to do too. What I like about the 2020 safety is versatility, you can bring him up close to the LOS but also has the ability to play in deep coverage or man too. Definitely a D1 football recruit.
