Hughes had some underclassman film that caught our eye, so we jumped into junior film to see how much he has improved over the last year. At around 280ish lbs, he does a good job of getting upfield once he gets started, but needs to show more urgency at the same time. Hughes is pretty physical at the point of attack, but doesn’t get leverage needed to be successful at this point. Pretty raw athlete at this point. Has good length for a 6’4″ frame. Physical when pass blocking, long arms seem to really make a difference. Good leg drive while blocking but engages too high. Oddly quick moving laterally, he hops across the LOS and is very dangerous pulling.
