Whitlock has a slight frame, but when he gets time to step into his throw he can really rip off a pass. What I like about the 2019 recruit is his effortless release. He’s not winding up to make these throws, and from looking at his fundamentals you could tighten it up even more and cut down his time, but the 2019 QB is quick nonetheless. He moves well in the pocket, steps up and maintains his balance while keeping his weight on his front foot upon release. Really impressed with Whitlock, he doesn’t have too many passes going farther than intermediate range, but the route trees all seem to be underneath stuff for the most part. He’s not a big time runner, but shows the ability to step up in the pocket and pick up yardage. Fairly good on read options where he squares his pads up field. He also got some reps at WR last year. Very slight frame, shows above average vision but goes down easy on contact.
