Gibson is a quality center recruit that made the GSWA All-State team. He is a heavy set lineman, but what stands out right away is how well he moves with the defender. He is brutal with his hands, and shows excellent strength at the point of attack. Gibson does an excellent job of knocking the defender off balance, but then it’s like blood in the water, he goes for the huge pancake with overwhelming success. Gibson is quick to engage, and has excellent hand placement. He gets up on his toes and really drives the defender out of the play. Not the greatest blocker in space, he is more a straight line player who shouldn’t be pulled too much, and might even have some trouble in a zone read blocking scheme. Really like how well he moves his feet while pass blocking, and he does a nice job of keeping his back flat. Gibson is a solid center prospect, he does pretty much everything you ask of him and has that nastiness to him that should really interest run heavy teams.
