Colbert is a springy 2020 athlete that put up a solid junior year where he caught 38 catches for 675 yards and 10 touchdowns. He can make a cut on a dime, and you see him weave around tacklers to stretch out runs after the catch for more yards. Good length at 6’1″. Colbert also shows really good body control when going up for a catch, and is pretty good at timing his jump too. Colbert wants the football, and is more aggressive than the DB in jump ball scenarios. Also plays some defensive back where his length and quickness can be an asset. Colbert has good football speed, and does a nice job of running with a natural forward lean and good acceleration right away. Getting more flexible in the hips and seeing him explode more out of his breaks is an area for improvement this fall. What I like the most about Colbert his ability of reading the defense after the catch, making the first tackler miss, and doing a good job of fighting for yards after contact. A little extra muscle, and I can see Colbert getting very close to 1000 yards his senior year, he broke off a lot of long plays in 2018, but he should be a load for DB’s next year. Watch him quickly jump on every D1 schools radars after so many have passed up during the 2019 offseason.
