Rhodes continues to fight off his blocks and going up against Mitchell County’s best blocker he really had a field day with multiple sacks and a FF too. The 2021 defender has a good motor, but needs to continue to work on getting out his stance quicker. He has a smaller frame, and truthfully will need to play linebacker at the next level. Was expecting more speed from Rhodes. He is very tough though and uses hands well to get off blocks. Tackling is okay, sometimes he uses his arms a little too much instead of meeting the ball carrier at the waist. Watched his film against most of the best teams in Class A. I think what impresses me the most is the strong fundamental base you are working with and the consistent motor in pursuit of the football. Definitely knows how to defender the option, gets good leverage and scrapes off his blocks. Nice instincts for Rhodes so he can definitely make a jump, but would also like to see him over to linebacker his senior year too.
