What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

Work ethic

So Jones was a bit of a playmaker his junior year at Warren County, and watching him create in space, it’s pretty clear the 2020 recruit has been slept on so far. He doesn’t go down easy, like the 2020 recruit will stiff arm, churn his feet, spin off tacklers and do whatever it takes to get extra yardage. As a punt returner, he does a great job setting up the coverage and finding seams to run threw. He was a QB on offense, but really, it was just him getting the ball directly and creating. Jones is not an elite speed guy, but does hit his top speed early, and doesn’t lose much when making a cut. His lateral quickness is very good, which allows to escape out of tackles that are pretty amazing. Jones needs to learn to bounce it out though, he looks to make cut backs when the easier route is just running down the sideline, which I guess goes back to his break away speed. If he takes a jump in speed this fall, there’s not many players in Class A with his ability to create on his own, and is definitely the front runner for All-State specialist at this point. No idea how he would play at slot receiver, but his quickness should certainly be something that can be exploited.
