Thornton is an angular wide receiver prospect who displays a long running gait and a nice stride moving down field. He has some legit potential to stretch the field, and with a little more weight his speed should be even better. Thornton has a wide catch radius and when playing a football down field he uses his hands to reel it in. Working on exploding out his release stance, and making more happen after the catch are two areas he can improve this fall. Thornton has some potential working the intermediate game, but needs to improve footwork in route running for separation to be more significant. Good looking college recruit, should be closer to 180 by the time he is a senior.
