What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

It has always been a dream of mine to play football at the collegiate level. I work extremely hard in the weight room and on the field. I have good character and am always willing to be coached up by any of my coaches. I made the All Region 6-3A Second Team Defense and First Team All Area according to the Dalton Daily Citizen as a sophomore. I also had 112 tackles this past year, tying the school record. I hope to continue to get better and eventually make it to the next level.

Buckner is one of the better linebacker prospects up in North Georgia for the class of 2020. He’s got very good size, and speed to gun down most backs in his region. Buckner has solid length at 6’2″, which allows him to see over top the LOS and react to the play quickly. The 2020 recruit should have a very good junior year, and where hoping to see his added muscle really make an impact with how hard he tackles. Buckner has a really good frame to play MIKE at the next level. He demonstrates a light back pedal, which hearkens back to his younger days playing safety. Need to see him get stronger with his hands getting off blocks, but from a pure athlete stand point Buckner catches your eye. Tackling consistency needs an uptick in order to get a ton of FBS interest. I would expect him to take a pretty big jump at TE too, but the 2020 recruit has been laser focused this offseason at improving at linebacker. What I like about Buckner is if he doesn’t fill out his frame completely, he could still end up being a WILL. Needs to get stronger and more flexible in the hips.
