What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

Just looking at Thomas and it’s obvious he has not put in the work in the weight room. His lower body is oddly shaped, enough so that we looked at his squat number after just about 30 seconds of film. With out improving his lower body strength he seems like a potential injury waiting to happen. Unfortunate because he is a solid athlete with pretty long arms too.

Thomas is a relentless blocker who spent last season playing swing tackle for Rockdale, but heading into the 2018 season he will be at Salem. He shows urgency in the way he plays, and really attacks the defender right away. He needs to improve lower body strength, and work on hamstring flexibility specifically. Improving his lower body will help so much in pass blocking situations and continuing to maintain body control through a block. What really catches our eye on Thomas is his obviously long arms, which allows for him to get really good consistent leverage. He can reach out and block a defender, while the other player cannot land a hand on him. That’s really impressive, and deceptive for a 6’2″ football player. His upside is higher than you would think, but specific work in the weight room is a must.
