The apropos named Wilder really gets after the ball carrier and shows an aggressive all out approach getting into the backfield. He doesn’t have a big frame, and most likely fits at OLB at the next level, but what I like about the 2020 is his motor and speed. At 6’2″ he shows fairly long arms, his 7’10.5″ standing reach at 6′ is above average for sure. Huge advantage getting off blocks, but also rakes the football out and messes up passing lanes for the QB. He’s have a very good season, tons of tackles for loss. I want to see him in coverage this offseason, but for Wilder in the modern defense he can play a 3-4 and really have elite speed to the sideline plus be a weapon on blitz packages. Very impressed with his upside and a year of serious weight lifting could completely change the 2020 athlete. Slighter frame is where some D1 schools will shy away, need to see Wilder gain some solid weight in order to get much looks at that level.
