Watkins has seen his recruitment take a nice jump over the last month. The short but powerful defensive tackle has strong hands at the point of attack and plays with a ton of urgency. His quickness off the ball makes him a legit pass threat, and he definitely shows strong fundamentals getting very good leverage and showing extremely quick hands. Watkins is violent at the point of attack. In short burst, he has very good quickness. Watkins is a well trained player, and should be a solid rotational DT or also play some 3-4 DE too. Cannot leave out how good of a tackler he is already, and the general energy he brings on each play. Watching his Lee County film you can see the 2021 recruit just wear out a Middle Tenn State recruit where he looked completely exhausted after getting burned on one of Watkins’ pass-rush moves.
