What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

A multi-sport athlete, AJ is one of the role models for our program. He is a leader on the field, in the classroom, and in the weight room, motivating his teammates to be the best they can be. AJ began the year as an offensive player, but moved to defensive because of his aggressiveness and physicality. He played all over the field – corner, strong safety, and outside linebacker – and he did well at them all. While slightly undersized at 5’10, his heart, effort, and physicality more than make up for that.

AJ does a really nice job of timing his break ups. He has quality size at 5’11”. He needs to improve his hip strength and flexibility – that stands out both on paper and on film. Straight line speed he shows a decent burst. Tacking is above average. He doe a nice job closing in on the ball carrier, and considering his frame he does a nice job of finishing off his tackles. Jones is an above average athlete his ability to tackle in space while also making well timed breakups is some nice assets for a college. Would like to see him get full time starter reps in the defensive backfield instead of playing primarily nickle.
