Player Spotlight: Senior LB Michael Robinson Allatoona

Michael Robinson is definitely a name to remember from the class of  ’17.  At 6’1″, 205 lbs, and over 15 Division 1 offers, Robinson is widely considered one of the hardest hitting players in the state.

Robinson has been a varsity starter since the 10th grade, and a major part of Allatoona’s 2015 State Championship team. Above all else, Robinson is a natural born leader.

I had a chance to ask past and present teammates about Robinson. They spoke highly about his his work ethic, and ability to make others around him better.

When viewing his highlights, its pretty clear that Robinson is always around the ball or in the backfield. Michael’s sideline-to-sideline speed provides him the ability to track down the ball carrier with ease – only if you were able to manage to get by him initially.  Robinson totaled 102 tackles, 7 sacks, and 2 INT – one of which was returned for a touchdown.

Robinson’s punishing hits, athleticism and speed are the reasons why schools like Indiana rave about him. When asked if he has a top 5, Robinson replied, “Not quite yet but here real soon.”

With the recruiting season officially underway, don’t be surprised to see the senior add more school to his already large list of college options.
