Player Spotlight: Pope’s Sophomore QB Evan Conley

Evan Conley had a season to remember at Pope High School this year. The super-sophomore signal-caller who stands at 6’1″, 190-pounds, set the single season passing record for the Pope Greyhounds with 2,276 yards. He was extremely efficient, tossing 14.2 yards per pass and 17 TD’s as well.

Conley is not just a passer though, and has the ability to make a play with his feet.  He rushed for 917 yards on 135 carries giving defensive coordinators nightmares all season long.

While watching Conley’s film, I noticed his ability to avoid pressure, and keep the play alive with his feet by rolling out and then throwing an accurate pass.  Whether he is standing in the pocket, or forced out, the sophomore tends to throw the ball with a nice touch, especially on deep throws.

To go along with Conley’s school record for passing, he was named Cobb Athlete of the Week after his performance against Northview.  The 2019 quarterback recently received postseason honors and was named to the 7-6A All-Region team.

He is just a sophomore, but if he continues his progression similar to his freshman to sophomore year, he should receive plenty of attention from college recruiters. Click HERE to visit his Recruit Georgia profile and start recruiting him now!
