Player Spotlight: Kevin Brown WR Randolph Clay

Racing his way onto the winner circle of yesterday’s Play of the Day was Randolph Clay’s explosive athlete Kevin Brown. The speedy two-way athlete took a kick return 80 yards to the house, hurdling over a defender in the process.

We spoke with the rising senior to talk about the upcoming season and his recruitment.

CgTGqs6WsAEMUg7“My main goals for next season is to lead my team to the state championship,” Brown convincingly stated.

The class of ’17 athlete has excellent speed and models his game after former college stars Laquon Treadwell and Malcolm Mitchell. Brown believes his biggest strengths are his speed and quickness out there on the field.

Brown has been working hard this offseason both as a leader and in the weight room. “I need to improve my leadership, accountability, and most importantly, I need to improve in the weight room.”

Colleges that Brown has been hearing the most from are Georgia, West Georgia and Middle Tennessee. He has not set his visit schedule in stone for this fall, but knows one school he will see for sure.

“I plan to visit UGA this fall and a few more schools once I know my schedule better.”

Brown is a very good athlete and runs an impressive reported 4.43 40-time. Colleges will recruit him at multiple positions due to his versatility on offensive and defense.

After reviewing his film, our staff believes the Randolph Clay senior is a safety. He has an angular body, and looks to have long arms, which gives him an advantage to play the ball over the top, and break up the pass. He needs work on his coverage skills, and hip flexibility, but with more experience his athleticism will shine.
