Player Spotlight: Jaquavious Lee ATH Westlake

Jaquavious Lee is our most recent winner of the Recruit Georgia Play of the Day. Lee showed off some serious jets, and returned a kickoff for a 94 yard score.

Not one defender was able to catch up with the speedy back on that play. Luckily for us, the new Westlake transfer is easier to catch off the field for an interview.

“My Goals for next season are simply just to be a leader on the field to my new teammates and jump on board with the winning tradition of Westlake High School. (I) just want to win,” Lee told us emphatically.

JAQUAVIOUS LEEMaking a transfer between high schools is not an easy transition for any rising senior. Fortunately, the Westlake coaching staff does a terrific job of getting their players recruited by colleges, and in the long run, Lee’s decision will pay dividends.

The 2017 athlete spoke about what makes him an asset on the field. “I’ll have to say, my biggest strength is my speed, and running ability.”

Lee is at home in the return game and told us that his favorite position on the field is returning kicks. The 2017 athlete models his game after an electrifying returnman who plays his college ball at Chapel Hill.

“I model my game after Ryan Switzer from UNC. He reminds me of myself; short, smart, explosive, and FAST! Great role model!”

The schools expressing the most interest in Lee are: Birmingham Southern College, Monmouth College, Puget Sound University, Augsburg University, Rhodes College & Old Dominion University.

Lee told us about his upcoming plans this offseason. “I plan on attending Rhodes College junior day in April and I plan on going to numerous camps this summer starting June 9th at Woodland High School.”

He believes his biggest area of improvement is increasing his strength. “If it’s one thing I need to improve that would be lower body strength and the ability to bounce off wimpy tackles.”
