Player of the Week Cur’Tavian Clark

Cur’Tavian Clark has his Spalding team surging in the 4A polls and going into Week 5 the Panthers are ranked #7. Last week, in their huge 41-27 victory against Dutchtown, Clark played one of the best games of his high school career.

The senior totaled 168 yards passing and three touchdowns completing 12 of 16 attempts. He was also dynamic on the ground rushing for 93 yards, and it was several demoralizing runs where he just juked around the defense and created something out of nothing.

Clark’s play has been huge to their 4-0 start this season and was just recently named our Player of the Week for Week 4.

“I would describe my senior year so far as proving the doubters wrong! Having fun, giving it my best; we want to win region and then win state,” Clark exclaimed.

Clark’s exuberance for the season is palpable and seems dead set on accomplishing his goals. Overall, the senior feels like he has made some good progress over the last year.

“I have improved in reading the defense more and taking what the defense gives me. I have improved as an overall player,” he said.

Clark’s dynamic ability to create has always been a hallmark of his game, and this year the improved patience has allowed his team to stay ahead of teams. At 6’1″ and 210 lbs., Clark has some intriguing size to play a number of positions at the next level.

He shows outstanding change of direction and has a lot of versatility at the next level. Speaking of which, Clark talked about the current status of his recruitment.

“Schools I’m hearing Alabama State, Shorter, and New Mexico Highlands. Also, Georgia Military College reached out after Friday.” Clark continued to talk about visits, “I’ve been to Alabama State for a game visit and I think this week I’m going to FAMU.”

Clark continues to impress, and we suspect he will continue to elevate Spalding for the rest of the 2023 season. His ability to create on top of his improved presence in the pocket makes the Panthers one of the most dangerous teams in all of 4A, and one that will absolutely make noise in the playoffs.

For Clark, his recruitment could really see an uptick in interest as the season progresses, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on the explosive senior and players all across the state of Georgia.
