Blessed Trinity running back Ahmontae Pitts is coming off a sophomore season where he was named All-Region and showed flashes that should attract college programs nationwide. His athletic upside was showcased again last Friday in their 24-0 win against St. Pius on opening night.
Pitts was named Offensive MVP for his performance, and had several runs that wowed the crowd; none more than his 70-yard touchdown run where he momentarily dragged defenders yards downfield before breaking free.
With every fiber of his being, Pitts was determined to find the endzone. That determination has been a hallmark characteristic of successful running backs under head coach Ed Dudley for decades, and Pitts looks to have that major component to his game. He wants the rock and is hungry for the endzone.
The opening night game is just the beginning of a great season and highlights the promise of a great junior season of football.
“So far I’m very excited about how my junior year started. I’m looking forward to a great season with many things to come,” Pitts said.
Credit to his work and focus on improving his game during the offseason. Pitts has built off his strong sophomore campaign and has leveled up.
“Overall I feel like I’ve improved on every aspect of my game from speed, physicality, agility – everything. This offseason was big for me,” he said.
With the season underway, we asked Pitts about his goals and where he sees Blessed Trinity finishing the year.
“My goals for the season, are to rush for 1500 yards and 25 touchdowns including a state championship,” he said.
If he achieves those numbers, then recruiting will take care of itself. Pitts is waiting for now, the recruiting cycle is just beginning for 2026, but we believe that FBS programs will be in pursuit shortly.
His explosiveness to the 2nd level and balance to break tackles will get the attention of college evaluators, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia to hear the latest on Pitts and athletes everywhere in the state of Georgia.
