‘Paulk to Moore’ Talk

Week 2 had some crazy plays, but I think the rightful winner of the #RGTop10 occurred with Fitzgerald’s trick play on a two-point conversion that tied the game late. Which eventually led to an 18-15 overtime win over the #1 team in Class A Public. You know you have hit it big time when GHSF Daily pulls out the hyperlink on their morning newsletter.

So if you clicked this story on Twitter, you have probably seen the highlight attached that we are expecting teams at every level will be copying this fall now. If you haven’t go ahead and follow this link. It’s truly a remarkable play that words cannot really describe.

So we went ahead and talked with the two major ingredients to the play, Jakorrian Paulk and Drew Moore.

“It was coach Pruitt’s idea. We practiced it like 4 times,” Paulk said.

On what it felt like beating one of the best teams of all the smaller schools in the state of Georgia.

“This rivalry meant a lot to us and to score to go into overtime was an amazing feeling.” Moore continued, “We worked extremely hard for this game and I am excited for the future!”

“It feels amazing to get a win over our rivals even tho that wasn’t our best game but we had the momentum at the end, never gave up and we pulled through,” Paulk said.

It was a gritty come back for sure, and even though Fitzgerald was outgained they never gave up and ultimately pulled together clutch plays at the end of the game. Fitzgerald looks to continue the great start to the season against Turner County tonight, where they will once again be the favorite.

On the recruiting front, Paulk did say that he did have some visits to games this fall, but no official visits yet. At the moment, the 6′ 220 lbs. senior is waiting to get more recruiting attention, and for Moore, he is a junior just cutting his teeth on the varsity.

Paulk is an interesting prospect who plays both HB and LB for Fitzgerald. He’s a powerful athlete who is very tough to tackle in the open field. He’s a powerful athlete with very lower body strength power cleaning 315 lbs. back in May. Paulk has a really solid junior year playing for the state runner-ups in 2A in 2020, so we are going to finish off this story by dropping his film at the bottom because typically we don’t have a joint story for the #RGTop10 play winner.
