Parker Mallett Commits to UT-Chattanooga

Sandy Creek tight end Parker Mallett committed to University of Tennessee at Chattanooga today. The versatile tight end officially announced his commitment on Twitter.

The rising Sandy Creek senior choose the Mocs over 6 others quality programs including: Air Force, Charleston Southern, Wofford and Elon. The class of 17 tight end prospect spoke about being done with the recruiting process and his recent visit.

Cn-agg9UsAAj4io“It feels great to be a Moc. I could tell when I went on my visit last weekend it was gonna be a good fit. My parents loved it and definitely feel like it was a great fit.”

Mallett was offered by UTC on May 24th and his connection with the coaching staff played a major role in his decision as well.

“I would say that Chattanooga’s coaches really separated them from everyone else. They seem to know what they’re doing, and they want to use me for the right reasons,” Mallett said.

Mallett is a smart football player both on the field and in the classroom (3.6 GPA). He runs clean routes and has a knack at finding an opening in the pass coverage once the play breaks down. On every snap Mallett pops out his stance with a purpose, and that intensity sets the bar for his team.

He is also a good blocker, who stays engaged with the defensive player throughout the duration of the play. His versatility was one reason why colleges became so interested in his potential over the last few months, but in the end the staff at UT-Chattanooga won out for his services.

Mallett is the first commitment for UT-Chattanooga for the 2017 recruiting cycle according to 247sports.com. View his Recruit Georgia profile by clicking HERE.
