Monroe’s Fundamentals are Presidential

Clarke Central’s Jordan Monroe has been a multi-year starter playing both center and offensive guard positions. The sound senior blocker has quick feet and does a nice job of getting consistent leverage, and that was definitely the case last week when Monroe’s performance earned him a spot on our Bully Squad.

The Clarke Central senior talked about the season so far.

“The season isn’t going as planned but we’re trying to win these last two games and make a run in the playoffs, but other than that, senior year has been pretty good,” Monroe said.

For the season Monroe has a 88% blocking grade and has 10 pancakes to go along with 28 knockdowns. That kind of production has continued to solidify Monroe as a college prospect.

“My recruitment has gone pretty well, it has started to pick up lately. I have received a lot of game day invites to many different schools. As of right now I have 3 offers and I’m starting to hear from other schools about potential offers,” he said.

Monroe holds offers from San Bernandino Valley College, St. Andrews, and LaGrange. The college interest ranges from FCS all the way to DIII at the moment with a lot of programs seemingly interested in the hard-blocking senior.

What we have always liked about the senior is the urgency in getting to his assignments and then showing excellent fundamentals in finishing off his blocks. He is a relentless blocker, a solid student with a 3.44 GPA and a wrestling background to boot.

Monroe certainly checks a lot of boxes for a college player at the next level and even though he doesn’t have an ideal height at 6′, he plays excellent technique to go along with an innate sense for the game. We definitely expect more college attention to accumulate here in the coming weeks, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter to hear the latest on Monroe and athletes all across the state of Georgia.
