Levi Seabolt, a powerful offensive line prospect from Gilmer, committed to Mercer tonight. The senior announced his commitment on Twitter:
His commitment is monumental news for Mercer, who had to beat out Marshall and Gardner-Webb for his services. He participated in the Rising Seniors challenge during the offseason, where some of the top-rated juniors in Georgia compete.
Seabolt (6’2″, 302 pounds) is also ranked the No. 6 heavyweight wrestler in the country, and that definitely translates well onto the football field. He is a tenacious blocker with immense power (400-plus bench press). Once he gets his hands inside the lineman’s pads, he just drives them out of the play and often onto the ground.
The Gilmer star athlete has been receiving plenty of preseason accolades, including the AJC’s and Recruit Georgia’s All-State teams. With his decision tonight, Seabolt becomes the second commitment for Mercer in the Class of 2017 and first from Georgia.
