The Scoop

The 6’4″ 220 lbs. defender caused a lot of havoc last year and earned All-State HM honors. He used his length to really attack OT’s and get around them with his outstanding quickness. Watching his film, and you are continuously reminded how long Johnson is, but also how well he uses his length to get off blocks. He has active hands getting off blocks and considering his speed, there is a lot of upside with Johnson as a pass-rusher at the next level. We want to see him take another jump this season improving his pass rush skills, getting quicker with his swim move, and lowering his pad level, but there is a lot of upside here. We think Johnson is a P5 caliber talent, and wouldn’t be surprised if more jump on board in the coming months joining Minnesota and West Virginia.
