Mangel Named GPB Player of the Game

Clarke Central junior quarterback Jack Mangel won GPB Player of the Game after a stellar performance against rival Cedar Shoals. The Gladiators won with relative ease, and the 6’3″, 204-pound gunslinger was only asked to pass the ball in the first half.

He finished the game with 217 yards passing, completing 11 of 18 passes for two touchdowns. Mangel did an excellent job of running the offense and showed off his impressive arm when needed.

The junior currently has 741 yards passing on the season for 5 TDs and 3 interceptions. He is 52-of-99 passing but has put the ball relatively on the money from what we have seen on film.

Mangel, who also plays hoops for Clarke Central, shows a lot of athleticism in the pocket. He let Recruit Georgia know that he has not heard from many schools outside of a few from smaller divisions.
