Loganville’s Matthew Pettit Pumped for the Season

Matthew Pettit has a motor that never stops and his tough physical mindset makes an impact out there on the gridiron. Heading into his senior year of football at Loganville HS, Pettit aspires to have a very successful final season with his classmates.

“The goals for this season is to win the region, and get the team deep into the playoffs, we’ve been working hard,” Pettit said emphatically.

The versatile senior has played on both sides of the ball in the past, but feels the most comfortable at his weakside defensive end position. He models his game after All-Pro NFL defensive end JJ Watt. He explained why, “The way he can turn around a game, and bring intensity to it – that’s what I try to do.”

Standing at 6’2″, 225 lbs, Pettit is a physical player with excellent 4.7 speed to get around offensive tackles. The senior student-athlete touts a 3.4 GPA and has been hearing from a number of colleges. “I’ve heard the most from Presbyterian, Princeton, Mercer, and Stetson.”

With his fall schedule set, Pettit plans to visit both Presbyterian and Mercer in October. A lot could change in his recruitment as the season progresses, so stay tuned to @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter to hear the latest.
