Jamyest Williams Announces Top 5

Grayson’s ultra athlete Jamyest Williams capped off his week at The Opening releasing his official Top 5 schools. Clemson, Tennessee, South Carolina, Ohio State and Georgia all made the rising senior’s official list.

Williams was ranked recently by Bleacher Report as the #21 prospect that competed at The Opening, which featured some of the top prospects in the country. Although he lacks prototypical size, the young cornerback is extremely physical starting at the line of scrimmage, and his ability to play the ball up top is elite.

His quickness allows him to stick with a receiver’s route like glue and reminds our staff of Pro Bowl cornerback Brent Grimes. He relishes the opportunity to play 1 v 1 coverage against elite competition, and more times than not, he wins the matchup.

This year he will primarily play CB for Grayson after playing RB a ton last season, but do not be surprised to see him become a change of pace back on offense. The Grayson community very well could see thunder and lightening this season in their backfield, especially if they need to spell Michigan running back commit Kurt Taylor.
