One of the best plays from Week 2 came from Harlem sophomore Tobias Wynn. The explosive young playmaker made a game-winning TD catch over a defender, toe-tapping down the right side of the endzone, helping his team to a 17-10 win over Grovetown.
“It’s been a strong start. We have a great group at Harlem, and I feel way more confident than I did as a freshman. The game has slowed down for me, and I’m just trying to be a playmaker every time my number is called,” Wynn said.
Harlem has moved to 2-2 on the season now. They have a bye this week, and then region play officially starts next Friday against Long County.
The 6′ 175 lbs. receiver earned playing time his freshman season with a few big performances, then took that experience into the offseason where he spent countless hours sharpening his skill level. Wynn talked about where he improved the most over the last year.
“For sure, my ball tracking and hands. I’ve worked a lot on high-pointing the ball, adjusting on deep balls, and making contested catches; also my route running, getting in and out of breaks faster, and being more physical at the top of my routes,” he said.
The ball has been spreading around this season at Harlem. Wynn is seeing the 3rd most targets, with over 100 yards receiving and two touchdowns. The early results have given the promising young receiver bigger goals in mind for the rest of 2026.
“Team-wise, I want to help my team win the region championship and make a deep playoff run. Me personally, I would like to go over 1,000 yards, be first team all region, and to be the guy my QB and coaches trust on 3rd downs in the red zone,” he said.
On the recruiting front, Wynn has heard from schools across the Southeast and said that Georgia Southern was the most recent program to reach out. But all of that aside, more than anything, Wynn’s attention is on the 2026 season, saying, “I’m just staying focused on my season right now.”
