One of the top plays from Week 6 had to be Kennesaw Mountain’s Dylan Green making a one-handed interception against Lithia Springs. The 6’3″ junior used every inch of his 6’3″ frame to stretch out and leap for the highlight reel pick, and just a few days later, he was named to the top plays of the week in Georgia.
Kennesaw Mountain beat Lithia Springs 32-8 in last week’s matchup, and they enter the 2nd half of the season with two wins. With the opportunity of region play ahead, we asked Green how he has played so far.
“My junior year is going great so far after transferring to Kennesaw Mountain from Hillgrove High School. My stats are 23 TT (19 solo) 6 pbus 1 interception 1 forced fumble and 1 sack,” he said.
The aforementioned interception is the talk of the state and was voted the #1 play of the week on Monday night. Any college evaluator worth their salt will take note that Green has the length and ball skills at defensive back that are premium for his recruiting class. Coming over from Hillgrove to now Kennesaw Mountain, Green has adjusted to both scenery and a position change.
“Last year I played corner at Hillgrove High School being more of a role player which is different from this year saluting myself on a team,” as he explained.
A few schools have already reached out to Green, and he talked about how the process has gone so far.
“Recruiting is a little slow, currently I have heard from a few schools like Appalachian State, Georgia State, Eastern Kentucky, and South Dakota. I visited Eastern Kentucky last weekend too,” Green said.
The talented junior safety has the prerequisite frame to play free safety at the FBS level and should fill out over the next year as colleges become familiar with his film. Green’s length and physicality are positive attributes that stand out, but his developmental upside is what will entice college scouts the most.
Green has the potential to be a stellar roaming safety and we expect FBS schools will grow in interest throughout the next 8-12 months. For the regular season, beyond just winning each week, Green said he would like to get 5 interceptions on the year and a total of 15 PBU’s.
That would indicate a dominating 2nd half of the year, which should translate some of the early college interest into offers, so be sure to follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on Green and athletes all across the state of Georgia.
