Davion Wright’s Spring Film Impresses

Wheeler High School has to replace a big-time playmaker this upcoming season with the loss of running back Benaiah Franklin to graduation (Purdue). Rising junior Davion Wright could be the answer the Wildcats are looking for.

Wright has excellent speed as you can see from his spring film from above, but that’s not all. Wright has unparalleled balance and is just scratching the surface of his running vision. The Class of ’18 player could shake a defender inside a telephone booth.

Look for Wheeler to use him in multiple ways, including toss sweeps, screen passes and jet sweeps—basically any way to get the ball into the speedy playmaker’s hands.

At 5’7″, 165 pounds, Wright doesn’t have prototypical size but has elite speed. Colleges are sure to take notice this fall, once he has a few 80-plus-yard plays for scores.
