Class of ’18 Sack Artist Offered by Chippewas

Central Michigan became the first school to offer Brock Mattison, a defensive end from Northview High School. The rising junior sack artist led all Class of ’18 players in Georgia with 10 sacks (per MaxPreps) in 2015.

We asked the second-team All-Region defensive end what if felt like to land his first offer.

“So refreshing and I look forward to working out harder because I know its possible,” Mattison said emphatically.

Our staff has been high on Mattison since we saw his early-season film last fall. Our most recent scouting report: “Brock is a talented DE for a class of 2018 prospect. He does a good job of setting the edge, pursuing the backside of the play and making a play on the ball carrier. He has good measurements and just needs to continue with his strength training to fill out his body.”

Mattison is recovering from an April 14th surgery on his broken metatarsal but let us know he is now up to 220 pounds. Mattison says of his recovery, “I just want to focus on getting 100%.”

He will have plenty of time during this offseason, but do not expect him to sit on his first offer. “My work is not done yet at all. I will continue to work hard on and off of the field.”
