Clarke’s Recruitment Sparks

Mill Creek’s versatile two-way athlete Ronald Clarke saw a little bit of a recruiting explosion tonight with high academic schools like Cornell, Princeton and Navy all submitting in an offer. Tonight’s spurt of offers is really just a microcosm of his recruitment over the last 60 days where Clarke has received just under 15 offers.

Among those schools are Power 5 programs in Vanderbilt and Syracuse, with many strong academic mid-majors following in pursuit. Clarke sports a 3.8 GPA and already has qualifying test scores with a 23 on the ACT and 1100 on the SAT, so it comes to no surprise to see the trio of schools offer Clarke in one night.

Clarke was awarded first team All-Region DB last year, which was his first year starting on the varsity on the defensive side of the ball. He is a recruit that we have monitored since his freshman year where he was considered to be one of the top track athletes in his class, and each year on the gridiron, he has continued to progress up until this point.

At the next level, Clarke really looks promising as a defender where his athletic prowess allows him to spring on ball carriers on the flat for quick-efficient tackles. He is a brutal hitter, and you really have to like how he reads the pass in coverage. Clarke attacks the receiver’s hands to rake out the ball, it’s a common theme you see on film.

Clarke’s recruitment has taken off this offseason, and with many more high academic schools surely interested in the big-hitting athlete, we are sure to be reporting more college scholarships on the way.
