Longtime Recruit Georgia user Mack Nash ended his recruitment this weekend with a commitment to the Naval Academy.

He announced via Twitter: “Excited to announce my commitment to Coach Niumatalolo and the USNA.”

Nash is an excellent student athlete and should fit right in at Navy. He choose the Middies over Army, Middle Tennessee, UCF, Air Force and Iowa State.

After visiting this weekend he told Recruit Georgia, “I was blown away by Annapolis, the class of the Navy Football staff and the quality of my fellow recruits from all over the nation.”

Even though Nash has received a string of offers over the last few months, it was the Midshipmen who offered back on April 2nd that made such an impact. Many schools have offered Nash at multiple positions due to his versatility.

“Coach Pehrson and Nua are recruiting me to play DT/SDE in Navy’s 3 man defensive front,” Nash told Recruit Georgia.

He should easily add weight to his long frame, and his athleticism will make him an interesting defensive lineman prospect. Nash’s lateral quickness and long arms indicate a lot of potential to be an impact player on the defensive line. He does a great job of getting leverage and clogging up the middle for Camden Co.

This is a slam dunk pickup for Navy, who found a player that fits all their needs both athletically and academically.

Nash is the 30th commitment for the USNA and joins Ford Higgins from Greater Atlanta Christian as the lone Georgia commits.
