Brunswick’s Moore Scores Big

Brunswick is 7-1 on the season and had a big Week 10 win over Lakesive-Evans that should ultimately decide the region. The #8 ranked team in 5A is headlined by junior passer Grant Moore, who has been efficient this fall throwing for 1515 yards and 16 touchdowns while also rushing for three additional more.

His team scored over 60 last Friday, and one touchdown earned him a spot in the weekly top plays. Moore took a mistimed snap where the offensive line never reacted, so he was on the run immediately crossing back and forth between both hashes before he found his big 6’7″ tight end Heze Kent. He lobbed the football toward the endzone where Kent was double-teamed, but that made little difference. He ripped the football away, securing the football while being slung into signage out of bounds.

They finished #2 for plays of the week, and we were able to catch up with the junior passer to talk about the season quickly and where he has improved the most.

“My Junior year is going good. We have a lot of talent on our team. I’ve improved most at understanding what will be open based on different coverages,” Moore said.

Brunswick looks to be among the best program in 5A. After losing to Camden County in the opener, they have won 7 games in a row and will finish off the regular season against South Effingham and Bradwell Institute. They will be heavily favored in both matchups,  so a 9-1 regular season is likely.

Moore said he would like to finish the season by making a run to a state title. With an array of talent and good size on both sides of the line of scrimmage, Brunswick is a program that can score at a high level, and that will prove to be a tough matchup come playoff time.

On the recruiting front, Moore said that he has one offer from Eastern Kentucky at the moment. With a 4.0 GPA and also an excellent baseball player, we feel like more D1 programs will take notice of the savvy passer.

This season Moore has done an excellent job of spreading the football to countless skill players, capable of striking anywhere on the field. Brunswick has a balanced offense, and that efficiency is reflected through their 6’1″ 175 lbs. junior signal-caller.

With the season becoming cooler, they will need his arm to heat up, so follow @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter/X to hear the latest on Moore and athletes across the state.
